Seasons

The four long chapters of a life, and the opportunity and lesson each one holds.

A life divides into four long seasons, each running for years and drawn from your birth date. A season is a chapter with its own weather. Numerology reads each one through a pair of numbers: a Pinnacle, the opportunity the season opens, and a Challenge, the lesson it asks you to work through.

What a season is

Your birth date sets out four seasons that run in sequence. The first lasts from birth into your late twenties or thirties, its length set by your Life Path. The second and third each run about nine years. The fourth runs from there through the rest of your life. Each has a distinct character, and the move from one to the next is usually felt as a shift in what life is asking of you.

The Pinnacle: what the season opens

Each season carries a Pinnacle number. The Pinnacle is the opportunity of the chapter: the kind of experiences and circumstances it tends to bring, the terrain you move through. The same number reads differently from one season to the next, because you meet it at a different age and from a different place each time. Read the pinnacle numbers.

The Challenge: what the season asks

Running alongside each Pinnacle is a Challenge number. The Challenge is the lesson: what the season asks you to develop. Where the Pinnacle is the opening, the Challenge is the work. The core of a Challenge number stays the same across a life, while the setting it plays out in shifts with each stage. One of them, Challenge 0, is rarer than the rest, and appears when no single digit stands out in the arithmetic. Read the challenge numbers.

Reading a season whole

A season comes into focus when you hold its Pinnacle and Challenge together: the opportunity it opens and the lesson it asks for, at once. Behind both sits a longer Period cycle, the climate of the whole era. To see your own seasons and where you stand in them, open your timing view.
